Crossroads-Making the Difficult Decision
I remember back in the late 90’s I was at a crossroads…
I wasn’t making enough money with part time entertainment work while raising a family.
I needed to figure out what to do.
My parents and in-laws had helped us through some rough patches financially, but it couldn’t last forever.
Right around this time, I was also blindsided by a medical issue that required surgery and treatment.
Scary times.
I went through a dark period of depression, not sure what to do.
I rediscovered my faith during this period which was incredibly helpful, because I had a hard decision to make.
Was I going to continue on in the path of creative work, or was I going to settle for “regular” work?
Not an easy decision, especially with my given circumstances.
I chose creative work.
One of the the main reasons I chose to stick with creative work was that I knew I was using my skills and abilities best on this path. I would be more effective and more in line with how I was made.
I also felt that it was part of a bigger plan that God had in store for me.
But there were no guarantees that it would work out.
There was a lot of faith and I thank God everyday for my wife Kate’s support.
I would not have made it this far without her support.
Maybe you’re at a crossroads too and it’s time to make the choice.
It’s not an easy one.
Hopefully, you have people around you that will help you with the decision.
Bring God into the problem.
Everyone around you might be telling you not to do it, but the Spirit is telling you that you have to make your move.
Big moves are scary, but done with the right heart and intent, they can lead to the biggest rewards in life.
